My daddy is being inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame at Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. this upcoming January. This is a Huge honor and we are so proud of him! Chad and I are going to make the trip ( not quite sure what we're doing with the little guy just yet... any takers??) but I am excitedly planning things to do during our trip. Funny thing is, I was BORN in D.C. and moved to Atlanta when I was 7 so I never got to appreciate the culture and pure awesomeness of our nation's capital. I am super excited to visit and share this trip with Chad. I know he'll have a big appreciation for all of the monuments and military history. I know my Marriott discount will come in handy for our hotel stays but I am pretty sure this trip will be our Christmas gift to each other this year! This is pretty much a once in a lifetime chance for us to get there and enjoy it just the two of us! Can't wait to see all of these places and MORE!
So, Tell me your favorite place in D.C... any suggestions for us??
ohh we LOVE D.C. and are going back down in about 2 weeks! Love going to the old Post Office and go to the very top for a gorgeous view of the city! It's free, but check the hours b/c it's not open at nighttime. Georgetown is gorgeous and has some great nightlife if you're w/o kids! The best thing about D.C. is so much is free... all the museums, the zoo. Have a blast!
D.C. is so much fun! We went there on our senior trip in high school and it was amazing! There's so much history there and it makes you proud to be American (not to sound cliche, it really does!) I really want to take a trip there with my husband (who is also a former Marine) I feel like we could both appreciate it more now. But have a great trip and can't wait to see you post about your experience.
Hi! What a wonderful honor for him! I'm a new follower from the Relax and Surf Sunday Hop! I would love for you to stop by http://aboutamom.com to say hi & return the follow! :)
Just moved from DC after living there for 10 years. Highly recommend the Newseum, the Spy Museum, Brasierre Beck, Acadiana, and Oya. If you are looking at hotels, makes sure you DO NOT stay on NY Ave, affordable rates, but bad neighborhood. Enjoy!
Haven't been to D.C. in 20 years, but I remember the Smithsonian Museums were great. Now Following you, hope you will follow back at www.glutenfreewithjudee.blogspot.com
Congratulations to your Dad! That's wonderful! I've only been to D.C. once and it was on business, so I didn't get much of a chance to sight-see. I did get to visit the Lincoln statue though, and that was really something.
Happily following you from the Welcome Wednesday Blog Hop. I would love it if you would follow back. Stop on by and say hi!
I love the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum and the National Museum of Natural History. I think it's so awesome that they are free to visit and family friendly. I know you will have tons of fun in DC!

I've been to DC a few times. I really enjoyed Arlington National Cemetery, it was nice to pay my respects to all the men and women who gave their lives to serve our country. I also loved just hanging out on the National Mall and taking in all the monuments.
Beautiful pictures... you will have the best time on your trip, I'm sure. Enjoy! I'm visiting from the Sunday Comment Luv blog hop on FTLOB. My site is Ducks n a Row : http://www:ducksnarow.com
