As much as I love doing things for the house, I love doing creative things for Cole more! I have been wanting to do a project like this for a while (check out my TO DO list at the top!) and today I was able to get it done!
My mom and I went to the Habitat For Humanity store in search of a nice looking frame that we could use to make a chalkboard for Cole. She found this plain wooden frame in the warehouse which happened to not have a back on it and also no price tag…. Awesome… only what was I going to put behind it? Luckily I found a cheapo piece of MDF that fit perfectly!
What was even more awesome was the price! Really? $5 for the whole project? SOLD!
I used the paint I already had so that didn’t cost me anything either- I think this is my cheapest project to date!
I’ll spare you the step by step because it’s pretty obvious I just painted the frame with blue and then primed and painted the MDF. Here is my little buddy playing with the result! He LOVES it which makes me super happy.
Plus, I think it looks super cute in his little play area behind the kitchen. Excuse the blurriness, but this kid is in constant motion!
What could be cuter than baby scribble scrabble?

Love the chalkboard...what a great idea!! I'm participating in the “Week-End Blog Hop” and I’m now the newest follower of your great site. Hope you have a chance to check out my blog, have a look around and maybe follow me back!!
