Nursery: Keep it simple

Oh, the things that you do differently with your second child! I know at 21.5 weeks with Cole, my nursery was almost complete... walls painted, bedding purchased, and my friend, Leah, had  made a gorgeous wall hanging that displayed Cole's name!

For this baby, we have an empty room. White walls. Brand new crib still in the box. No confirmation of the sex.
No public announcement of the names we have decided on.

But this doesn't mean we're not totally excited- we're just SUPER busy!
I am a list-maker so here is what I still have to do before the end of May:

Because we aren't finding out the sex, we are keeping the nursery very simple at first. No fancy bedding sets (with bumpers that never get used) and most of the furniture is second hand. We are refinishing a few pieces to make them fit for either a boy or girl and I am so excited for everything to be complete. It will be fun to accessorize one way or another when the baby is born. We have been buying the big-ticket items little by little and thank goodness all we have left are the small things(most of which are on back-order!) I love our growing collection of yellow/green newborn clothes... this "not being sure of the gender" thing is really exciting (we both have our predictions, though!)  I like crossing things off this list but now I just need to get started on transforming that naked room!

Between the nursery, our continued potty-training efforts, and lots of traveling, we have a crazy few months ahead of us! Wish us luck!
