Finally Finally Finally…

We went on a getaway by ourselves. In the 8 years we have been together, we have never taken a vacation, just the two of us. We had been talking for years about a ski trip and at last, we went! Chad grew up skiing in fancy places out west but since I had never been before, we decided to scale back and try out something simple and more accessible – Snowshoe, WV it was! I did really well for a first timer and I think next time we’ll do something in the Rockies! Chad was an amazing teacher and he stayed by my side the whole time making sure I could get down the mountain alright. I skied the greens on the 1st day and then by the time we left, I had conquered all of the blues! Black diamonds were out of the question once I twisted my knee yesterday but I know that next time I will try them! Aside from the skiing, we were able to really enjoy each other’s company and laughed ALOT! We were like teenagers dating again and we just had so much fun! I think our favorite part was all of the eating out we did. If you know us well, you know that we never treat ourselves to dinner dates so we went and spoiled ourselves this week by pretty much eating out every meal. Sitting in a restaurant being waited on while having adult conversation was like a dream come true. It’s the little things like that that mean the most to me! It was a much needed trip for us and very well deserved after the big year we just had. Here are some of the photos I was able to take. Most are from my crappy point and shoot because I didn’t want to break the big Nikon.  

On a side note…. I have to say that my mom and sister were amazing to help us with Cole and Charlie while we were gone! They kept both of them all week and we are so grateful to have had this special time away with no worries> Thank you Nanny and Aunt Lisi!
