not much going on... sorry!

I wish I could say we've been busy the last few days but we really haven't. I completely forgot to mention in my last post that Cole had his 6 week checkup last week. He weighed 10lbs 3oz and was 22 1/4 inches long. Right on track for his age and a little on the big side. He continues to be really smiley and adorable...now if I could only get him to sleep more than 4 hours at a time at night... :) He has been spending alot of time "in the buff" lately as it has been over 100 degrees here the last few days. He is either naked on his playmat or in just a diaper. Everytime I put clothes on him he is drenched in sweat 20 minutes later. None of the houses on base have air conditioning so it is really miserable for us right now. There is usually a nice breeze, but not the last few days. Our house is an inferno, seriously.

Friday night we made the drive out to Vista to go to BabiesRus... I could spend hours in that store. Chad was sooo not into it when I was pregnant but now that Cole's here he get excited talking about what toys Cole is going to have later on. He HATES noisy toys and swears that Cole won't have any but everyone knows the noisy toys are the most fun! Lucky for Cole, I am all about the noisy boy toys and he can have all the loud stuff he wants. We have some giftcards left over from the 3 baby showers that I had so we are looking into getting a jogging stroller. Chad's mom gave us the Cadillac of all strollers but I don't want to tear the wheels up while running through the neighborhood. There are a couple we are looking at and that will probably be our next big purchase from BabiesRus! If anyone who reads this has a suggestion for a jogger, let me know! I am a freak about reading product reviews and it'd be cool to get an idea from someone we actually know.

Another thing going on in our house is that we have started the p90x fitness program. I am sure you have seen the infomercials about it - they're all over the tv. We have heard rave reviews from friends about it (and of course I read product reviews) and we are giving it a try. I am still a little "squishy" from having a baby and Chad is more or less doing it to help me stay motivated. There are 13 dvd's each with a different exercise for the day and you rotate them out according to a schedule. It's a 90 day program so hopefully we can stick it out till the end! We're on day 4 and so far,so good.

Here are some random pics from the past few days...

Look at that cute little booty! Too hot for clothes this week!!

Napping with daddy
Sunday is taco night for dinner. Cole is always included!

That's it for now!

  1. I use bum genius one size pocket diapers. They are $17.95 pretty much everywhere, but I think it is totally worth the investment. I ordered mine from diapers.com. They do 10 dollars off your first order and free shipping on orders $49.99 and over. I have 12 diapers and that seems to be good number for me. I started with 7, and that was doable, but I had to wash all of them every night. Now, I wash about every day and a half. Also, our single jogger was a jeep, and we love love loved it. Now we have a baby trends double jogger and we really like it too! I think it is a lower end brand, but it's still a great stroller.
